Artist Bio
Andrew Sleeman is a Brisbane based artist who paints primarily with acrylics and water-based paints. He is interested in a variety of subjects, including still life, interiors and landscape. Andrew returned to painting in 2020, re-establishing a consistent art practice.
Andrew has been attracted to scenes that make the viewer feel like they are catching glimpses into modern life. His paintings often focus on urban scenes and an interest in everyday moments, objects and infrastructure within these scenes.
Andrew has been a finalist in art competitions and group exhibitions, including Foot Square and Petite Pieces at Aspire Gallery (Brisbane), the Emerging Artist Prize at Revival Art and Design (Brisbane), Inside This Box and The Every Day at The Corner Store Gallery (Orange) and The Next Big Thing art competition at The Toowoomba Gallery (Toowoomba). Andrew also showcased eleven pieces as a body of work at a group exhibition at Kaye West Studios (Brisbane).
